The Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Peru was started as a mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod in 1968.
The work of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Peru is located in Lima, Chimbote, the Andes Mountains of Ancash, and the Amazon Jungle area around Tarapoto.
The Church’s 12 clergy (plus a similar number of vicars) were educated at its Seminary in Lima. The Church’s educational program also includes extension seminary programs in outlying areas, two elementary schools in Lima, and three more elementary schools and a high school in the jungle.
